Towards a customer-oriented electronic insurance service

Electronic insurance services are still very product-oriented. The current Finnish insurance market offers electronic insurance services that are based on self-service principles. In the future of electronic insurance services, there is a definite need for elements that support the customers throughout their transaction processes without the need to call the insurance company or in the worst case cancel the process.

The project "eInsurance - Novel Electronic Insurance Services" is a public project funded by Tekes - Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation and managed by the School of Economics and Business Administration at University of Tampere and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. It continues the work of it's predecessor "eInsurance - Electronic insurance business and risk management" (2003-2004) with the objective of basic research on insurance companies' web services and customer attitudes towards different service channels, especially electronic insurance services.
